Biography:

Dušan Grúň (* May 26, 1942 , Žilina – † April 22, 2024 , Bratislava ) [1] was a Slovak singer .

He graduated in 1959 in Košice . After graduation, he studied at the metallurgical faculty of VŠB in Ostrava , where he played the trumpet in Dixieland . Later he started singing with Ivo Pavlík’s orchestra . His daughter Renáta was born in Ostrava in 1964 . He recorded songs with Josef Vobruba’s orchestra in Prague . In 1965, after returning to Bratislava (after performing abroad), he performed with the Juraj Velčovský Orchestra for more than thirty years . In 1966, he married his wife Majka.

So far, he has released 53 songs on three CDs, although he has recorded more than 260 songs on the radio alone. [2] His recordings were recorded on dozens of records that have not yet been released. He performed abroad with singers Karol Duchoň , Jana Kociánová , Oľga Szabová , as well as with Czech singers Karl Gott , Waldemar Matušek , Helena Vondráčková , with whom he performed in Germany . He performed in the music and entertainment program Repete . He performed together with the singer Martin Jakubac in the gala-commemorative program Repete Návraty and was also its producer. Among his hits are also songs whose musical melodies come from the former Yugoslavia , such as “Kde si bola, koh tu hrmelo” or “Where is our ship sailing”. [3]
