Biography:

Manolo Miralles ( Xàtiva ,  1952  – July 29 , 2023 ) was a musician and singer from Valencia , founder of the group Al Tall . [1] [2]

Biography

Born in Xàtiva in 1952 , in his youth he played the bandúrria in the rondalla of the choirs and dances of his city, and studied high school in Valencia ; then he began studying Medicine at the University of Valencia in the 70/71 academic year . [1]

After singing solo as a singer-songwriter , and having become a finalist in a song contest at the Salesian College of Valencia together with Moncho Borrajo (Miralles, however, did not appear in the final), during in the year 73/74 he would meet Vicent Torrent and Miquel Gil , with whom – by exchanging songs and coinciding in concerts – he would found Al Tall the following year.

When starting to work in a team, he decided to include the bandúrria to enrich the sound of some songs originally played only with guitar , [2] and thus he began to be interested in learning different stringed instruments ( arxillaüt , fretless electric bass , busuki , lute , lute , mandolin and violin ), percussion ( bendir , darbuka , djembé , tambourine , tam-tam …) and wind (like the dolçaina that sounds in theCancó de la llum ) that make up the characteristic sound of that set.
