Biography:

Adrian Pleșca (b.March 31, 1961, Bucharest , Romania  – d.December 2, 2025, Bucharest , Romania ) was a Romanian singer.

He studied violin in kindergarten, piano in grades I-VII, and double bass in grade VIII. [ 1 ] He attended the Faculty of Metallurgy at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest [ 2 ] and worked at the Călărași Steel Plant . [ 3 ]

In October 1982, he began performing with the band Timpuri Noi , which he founded with his childhood friend Răzvan Moldovan and became known as Artan . [ 4 ] After 1990, the band became famous with songs like “Stere” and “Tanța” [ 4 ] .

Since August 1990, Adrian Pleșca has been singing in the Radio Choir [ 5 ] , and during 1994-1995 he presented, together with Oana Ionescu , the show ” Ping Pong in the Family ” [ 6 ] , broadcast monthly on Saturday mornings, at that time, by TVR 1.

During the almost 30 years of Timpuri Noi , Artan took a five-year break, between February 2001 and 2006 , when he founded the band Partizan , which would hit the charts with the song “Fata mea” , a song hummed by everyone due to its ironic lyrics [ 4 ] .

In 2004, the band Partizan broke up, and Artan re-founded Timpuri Noi . [ 5 ] In 2009, he left the band for the second time. He re-founded the band Partizan in 2011, which he left in March 2019. After a three-year musical break, he returned to Partizan in March 2022.

In October 2025, Artan kissed an 18-year-old girl, whom he did not know, without her consent in a bar in Bucharest. He allegedly justified his action by saying that “I kissed her because I saw her more thoughtful like that… She was emotional”. Some sources indicated that this was not the first incident of this kind. [ 7 ]

On December 2, 2025, Artan died in Pantelimon Hospital following a stroke . [ 8 ]
